New Upcoming CS 1.6 / Condition Zero Weapons

Famas

Now to the new weapons which were first planned to be released with the CS: CZ incorporation in Counter-Strike but I guess Valve changed their mind about it. The Terrorists got the Gali which was used a lot of times during the play test, it is more of a close range weapon and not as powerful as the ak. Though it very accurate and with a capacity of 35 rounds and only $2000 many people will love it.

The new weapon for the Counter-Terrorists is the Famas. With a price of "only" $2250 the CTs finally have a weapon that they can afford even with a low budget. I always thought it was a big advantage for the Terrorists to have such a powerful weapon as the AK available at a low price, thanks for changing it Valve. Where the Gali had no secondary attack the Famas can be switched to burst mode just like the glock. It then fires a very accurate three round burst that is interrupted by a small pause which makes the Famas better to use at far range because you can imagine how a close firefight with an AK or M4A1 will end.

Counter-Terrorist Tactical Shield (aka Riot Shield)

Since the the riot shield is probably the most talked about addition in CS 1.6 lets start of with it. It is only available to Counter-Terrorists and can't be used with a primary weapon. If you have the shield and buy a primary weapon it will be dropped. Just like with any other weapons, Terrorists will be able to pick up the shield from dead CTs and use it, I didn't get a chance to check out what happens though if you have the Dual Berretas though. If you have the shield drawn the primary attack is shooting the pistol you are carrying, the second attack will place the shield in front of you meaning that the normal second attack of a pistol (e.g. putting on the silencer or switching burst mode on/off) can't be used. I don't know if that will be fixed during the beta or if we just have to live with it but I think Valve should come up with a fix so you don't loose the secondary attack of the pistol.

If you have the shield drawn and duck it will full cover you from any bullets flying your way, the HE grenade can still hurt you though. If you move or stand tall you will not be fully covered and you can be hit. It takes a few moments to change from shield drawn to pistol drawn so you should cover up before getting into a firefight. If the riot is drawn and you watch your back so nobody can stab you from behind you are pretty save from any damage. I am really excited to see how people will use the shield, just imagine you play CS and 4CTs covered with a riot heading your way and behind them another 4 having their M4A1 drawn, damn this will be fun!
