Ok as many of you are wondering, let's just tell Kam to make the spray. Well, not anymore! No, this is why i made this damn tutorial! To tell You How to make your own spray! Now, just follow the instructions ^_^
1. If you don't already have them, download and install a copy of Wally (free bmp to wad converter) and a free graphic editor program like Paint Shop Pro or Photo Shop. You guys can get a free Program to use Paint Shop pro from Imesh. Trust me, you dont want to use the 30 day trial from the Paint Shop Pro website. Ok here, Most of you guys already have it, but anyways, go to www.imesh.com Download Imesh, and install it. Then Search for Paint Shop Pro 7 ( Dont download 8, Most likely it's a fake) Then go to this Link to Download Wally:
After you download AND INSTALL Wally, then keep following the instructions.
2. Go get your high quality high resolution picture or photo or artwork that you want to turn into a custom color spray paint logo for a Half-life mod.
Start up Paint Shop Pro. On Paint Shop Pro's menu, click "FILE" then "OPEN". An "OPEN" menu should pop up. Now, browse to select your picture file, click to select it (it can be a ".JPG", ".GIF", ".BMP", etc, etc file at this point), then click "OPEN" to open your picture with Paint Shop Pro.
(ex.1)
3. Reduce the picture to a valid "width times height" size for a spray logo.
Click "IMAGE", then "RESIZE". A "RESIZE" menu should pop up. Make sure that menu's "Maintain aspect ratio" box is "CHECKED", change the "WIDTH" or the HEIGHT" setting. The Important thing for your spray to have is THE RIGHT SIZES. First of all, If you just started, It would be best if you just download a spray thats already made and put a your name on it.(Keep following instructions)
IF it is your first time, dont read this, If it isn't then read. Ok, you have to make the sizes right it HAS TO BE Divisible by 16 in both HEIGHT and WIDTH.
4. You may want to add a text to your picture.
This could be anything such as " ace | Kam pwned J00! ( I like) or ace | Rules, or whatever you want" Simply do this. Make sure that you are looking at your picture. Near the bottom left, on the pallete toolbar side, You see a Capital "A" that is slightly slanted. Click on it. Then you just clik on where you want your writing, then a box appears. You can set the font or boldness, underlining, etc.. with this. After you do that click ok near the bottom left of teh box. Now your text appears, there are greater chances that the words are off the picture, but dont worry, You can change them. Just clik on the text while holding the mouse1 button and drag it over to the left a little and a little more until you see the end. When you see the end, click on the middle-right bullet and move it to the left more. Then, bring the whole thing to the right and it should be close to the right size. You can keep changing and moving the text wherever you want.
(ex.2)
5. Now save your finished picture as a ".BMP" file. Read below ONLY if you dont know how
Click on "File", click on "Save copy As". The "Save copy As" menu should pop up. In the "File name" box, type in a name for YOUR first properly prepared CUSTOM ".bmp" file. On the right side of the "Save as type" box , click the "arrow", then scroll down to select "Windows or OS/2 bitmap (*.bmp)" . Then click "SAVE".
6. Now its time to turn your finished ". BMP" into a ".WAD" file named "pldecal.wad" with the WALLY "HL Decal Wizard" .
Now start up Wally. Click on "Wizard" ( The tab at the tob) Then click on "HL Color Decal". The "HL Color Decal Wizard" should pop up. Click to select "File on hard drive", then click the "..." button. After Clicking the "..." There should be a browse box that pops up. Use this box to find your .bmp ( The picture you just made with Paint Shop Pro) After you find your ".bmp" (Picture) file, Click "Open" Then, it should have the adress for your folder where it says "File on hard drive" After this, Click OK on the BOTTOM RIGHT. Then it should show your spray in a box. Go to file, then save, And IT SHOULD ALREADY BE AT YOUR CSTRIKE FOLDER. JUST CLICK SAVE AND OVERWRITE THE OTHER ONE. DO NOT RENAME IT WHEN SAVING. What you're overwriting is the crappy default spray that comes with CS. You SHOULD HAVE A BACKUP OF THE PLDECAL in-case you make another spray and accidently overwrite this one. You could put it in the same folder of you're picture, or any other file.
HOORAY! You're done. You're CS spray is completed! Make sure you read below, as you can see it's pretty important.
EXTREMELEY IMPORTANT::: DO NOT CLICK ON CUSTOMIZE IN YOUR COUNTER-STRIKE AFTER YOU INSTALL THIS SPRAY. IF YOU DO THAT, THEN IT WILL OVERWRITE YOUR SPRAY, WHICH IS ANOTHER GOOD REASON THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BACKUP. IF THIS ACCIDENTLY DOES HAPPEN BY ANY CHANCE, COPY YOUR PLDECAL, AND PUT IT INTO C:/SIERRA/COUNTER-STRIKE/CSTRIKE FOLDER WITHOUT RENAMING IT. MAKE SURE YOU OVERWRITE.
